• Louis Armstrong

  Louis Daniel Armstrong (August 4, 1901 – July 6, 1971), nicknamed “Satchmo”, “Satch”, and “Pops”, was an American trumpeter, composer, vocalist, and actor who was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades, from the 1920s to the 1960s, and different eras in the history of jazz. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame.

  Cabell “Cab” Calloway III (December 25, 1907 – November 18, 1994) was an American jazz singer, dancer, bandleader, and actor. He was associated with the Cotton Club in Harlem, New York City, where he was a regular performer and became a popular vocalist of the swing era. His niche for mixing jazz and vaudeville won him acclaim during a career that spanned over 65 years.
