The Cloisters

[A cloister is an architectural term that refers to a covered walk or an open arcade that runs along the walls of a building.]

Above is displayed the arcade of the cloisters at the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel, which surrounds the sculptured foliage of the enclosed garden.  Ornamented with animal and human figures, it also includes many religious symbols. The carving of the arcade itself is further set off by slender single columns arranged in quincux (pattern of 5 points) to enhance the impression of lightness.  (…my improvement over Lorem ipsum…)
